History

The history of Capitol Management is connected with Shalva Jakhutashvili, a businessman of Georgian origin, who grew up in Kazakhstan, started business in this country, but did not stop connection with his homeland, which in 2006 gave him the motivation to make the first investment in Georgia.

Until 2014, the company's investments in Georgia, together with local partners, were made in agriculture, food processing, easily predictable and less risky sectors - real estate and construction. In 2012, in order to save the crisis portfolio in the field of agriculture, it was necessary to combine all assets and liabilities under one management team. In order to manage companies and projects created with Georgian-Kazakh investments, the investment management company Capitol Management was established in 2014.

One of the primary tasks of Capitol Management was to achieve stability, which meant the sale of existing assets and investment in real estate with the received financial funds. In order to implement this strategy, in 2015, the valuable real estate development company Simetria was created, which brought together various professionals. In the same year, in order to increase the scale of the real estate portfolio and implement investment projects in the field of tourism, the team signed an agreement with the American brand, Best Western, on the basis of which it obtained the right to be its official representative and give the name to the hotels in Georgia.

In 2016, Capitol Management began cooperation with the experienced Spanish hotel management company Hotel Collection International, which managed hotels of various international brands in Europe and our region, and is still an officially accredited manager of such brands as Hilton, Intercontinental, Accor, Sheraton & Marriott and others. The Spanish company and Capitol Management established a joint company in Georgia, Hotel Collection International Georgia. These partnerships made the standards and management principles of international brands available in the regions of Georgia, which was important not only for Capitol Management, but also for the development of the country's tourism sector as a whole.

Currently, Capitol Management manages several medium-sized projects and companies. The investment budget of the companies and projects under his management exceeded 200 million US dollars in total until 2024. These projects covered 5 regions of Georgia, 4 independent investors from Kazakhstan participated in them, and about 200 people were directly employed.
